Since it’s humble beginnings, Otoban Music has embraced its generation’s philosophy that recycling, restoring and re-using are an important ethical mission for the company. It’s our way of doing our part to take care of our natural resources. We also believe that the early production of guitars was the Golden Age of the guitar market and want to provide our clientele with classic pieces that can travel through time. In this time of mass production, Otoban Music believes in restoring and conserving these wonderful instruments, in order to offer our clients the best possible vintage guitars available, while helping the environment.

Located in Montreal, Québec, Canada, Otoban Music was founded as a web store in 2003 by a musician with a passion for vintage electric and acoustic classic guitars, who started playing and collecting instruments in the late 80’s. Our background in sound conception and studio production has allowed us to work for numerous international acts such as the Montreal Jazz Fest as well as many theatrical and musical events. This makes us especially sensitive to our clients’ artistic demands. From early on, our contacts with local and international collectors have granted us access to the best in the vintage musical instruments market, making our inventory a remarkable and varied one.
We carry vintage Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Martin, National, Rickenbacker and many more. Otoban Music remains a small shop, giving us the privilege of having a personalized and friendly relationship with our worldwide clientele. Our professional team of luthier and electronics technicians take good care of the inventory, making sure that the instrument you will buy is restored and set up to its ultimate sound, playability and collectability potential. We take care to keep the nobility and originality of each instrument, treating each piece with respect for the initial craftsmanship that went into its making.
We believe that production in the early days was defined by the work of outstanding craftsmen who used materials no longer available today. Investing in a vintage instrument is a wise decision. It always keeps its value and will provide hours of pleasure to its owner. Companies like Fender and Gibson, to name a few, made replicas and relics of some of their most popular classics. But let’s face it, nothing sounds better and is as charming as “the real thing”.
